GEO Cache
GeoCache 4:
Want to go for a nice walk?
Duluth writer Kevin Bovee and his wife, Mary, recently took a stroll along the Knife River and placed a geocache. Kevin says this is a great family hike—about a half-hour one way.
Our geocache consists of a waterproof ammo can that is marked Northern Wilds. Inside you’ll find a logbook and, if you are the first to find it, a special trinket. The geocache sites are located on public land and are registered with the land-managing agency. The locations are family-friendly. When you find the cache, be sure to leave an entry in the log and, if you so desire, a trinket. When you return to civilization, email us and tell us about your geocache adventure. Send along your photo and we'll post you on our site!

CLUES: From the Highway 61 Expressway, turn north on Shilon Road (about mile marker 18) and follow it about a half-mile to the end of the road. Park at the fisherman’s lot and take the trail to the Second Falls on the Knife River.
*Stay on the river trail past the falls and look for the popple stand on the first small ridge you scale. *You can almost see it now.
