Northland Creatures Great and Small, a DVD produced by Take it Home, Inc., of Duluth, MN, marries master photographer Paul Sundberg’s still images of the elusive creatures of the northern woods with the haunting melodies of 14-year-old, prodigy pianist Elisha Stokes.

Sundberg’s camera captures the “great” creatures, such as wolves, bear, moose, deer, eagle, and owl, along with the “small”– beaver, fox, loon, grouse, pileated woodpecker, and even the diminutive chickadee. Sundberg’s talent shines especially in the close-up shots of the smallest inhabitants with which we share our North Country – wonderfully memorable is his record of the emergence of a monarch butterfly and the parental ministrations of bluebirds to their young. Lovely landscapes and floral images are scattered liberally throughout the presentation, as well.
