Volunteers Needed to Count Loons

The Minnesota Loon Monitoring Program is seeking volunteers to count loons on certain lakes. Volunteers must visit the lake between July 2-12 and count all the loons observed, both adults and chicks.

Volunteers are also needed to count loons on lakes in Itasca, Cook and Lake counties. People interested in assisting with this project, should contact Sarah Verke in Grand Rapids at (218) 999-7808 to find out for which lakes volunteers are needed.
