There is a new color in the canoe country: PINK.

Sue Prom of Voyageur Canoe Outfitters has begun selling pink canoe paddles to raise money for breast cancer research. The Pink Paddle is a functional, bent-shaft, graphite paddle and a beautiful piece of art. Inspired by the art of New Zealand’s Maori people, the logo on the paddle is a wish or a blessing to anyone, but especially to those who have been affected by breast cancer: "May your new beginning bring you strength, peace and tranquility and may your journeys over water always be safe."

Each year thousands of women are diagnosed with breast cancer and chances are someday, some woman you love will be among that number. A portion of the proceeds of the sale of each paddle is donated to breast cancer research so there may someday be a cure for this devastating disease.
