A recent photo shoot for Brunton outdoor products took place in Grand Marais with local models posing in less than perfect conditions. The theme of the photo shoot was “Pay the Price,” meant to showcase Brunton’s products being used in challenging conditions.

“For most trips people take it’s not 75 degrees and sunny,” said Howard Tripp, the company’s creative director. “The trips you really remember are the ones where you have to overcome some level of hardship and discomfort. Brunton products are for people willing to show that level of dedication.”
Some of the shots employed a rain machine (a fire hose with a sprinkler head) to create monsoons, showers of dried mashed potatoes to emulate heavy snow, and a good amount of mud was smeared on the models to simulate the worst possible in a wilderness experience.
About 15 locals stepped in to show their grit, and Tripp said the photo shoot was an incredible success.
“We’re very satisfied, and it’s one of the better photo shoots we’ve done,” he said. “It was a pleasure to be up there and Brunton was very well served.”
The 2011 Brunton catalog using the images will be unveiled at the Outdoor Retailers show in early August, and the images will appear in other Brunton marketing materials. For more information visit www.brunton.com
