Discover Minnesota’s Watchable Wildlife

Vacationers facing the high cost of gasoline can beat gas prices by cutting back on longer trips to other states. Stay closer to home and discover Minnesota’s watchable wildlife.

“Wildlife can provide exciting experiences that are fun to share with family and friends,” said Carroll Henderson, DNR Nongame Wildlife Program supervisor.

Tips, maps and information on areas to encounter some of Minnesota’s most sought after wildlife such as peregrine falcons, moose, bears and bald eagles are available in the “Traveler’s Guide to Wildlife in Minnesota,” authored by Carrol Henderson, Andrea Lee Lambrecht and the wildlife biologists of the DNR Nongame Wildlife Program. The collective knowledge of the state’s top wildlife biologists will help readers see and enjoy the best of Minnesota’s rich wildlife heritage. “Traveler’s Guide to Wildlife in Minnesota” was made possible by donations to the Nongame Wildlife Checkoff and is available at the Minnesota’s Bookstore by calling 1-800-657-3757, at all major booksellers and in the DNR’s Nature Store at the Minnesota State Fair.
