Lucas Will and Greg Petry are spending the summer paddling over 1,200 miles around the outer shoreline of Lake Superior. They will spend up to three months on this human powered expedition in nylon skinned, wooden framed sea kayaks which they built from scratch. The two will also be filming their entire journey for a feature adventure documentary following their circumnavigation. They have titled the project “Superior Dream.”

The trip began on the morning of June 26, with Will and Petry passed under Duluth’s Aerial Lift Bridge and turned left heading up Minnesota’s North Shore. They will continue clockwise around Lake Superior, finishing their kayak circle tour in September back on the sandy beach of Duluth’s Park Point.
