No dance on Sunday, but wildflower booksigning and outdoor music

by Joan on June 13, 2009

One of the calendars we depend on for announcing events was mistaken… there is no dance at the Hovland Town Hall on Sunday, June 14. We apologize for the error.

Betty Hemstad's book, "Wildflowers of the Boundary Waters," has just been published.

Betty Hemstad's book, "Wildflowers of the Boundary Waters," has just been published.

However, we just found out that Betty Vos Hemstad will be signing her new book “Wildflowers of the Boundary Waters: Hiking through the Seasons” at Hungry Jack Outfitters at 2 p.m. this Sunday. The book features color photographs of the bud, blossom and seed of 120 flowers found along the Gunflint Trail as well as commentaries and photos of  areas where they can be found while hiking the trails. For more information, contact Hungry Jack Outfitters at 388-2275.

Also, Devil Track Resort’s summer series, “Music by the Lake” begins this Sunday from 5-8 p.m. with Bump Blomberg, Jef Cerniak & Adam Moe.  There are special menus, too.
